While We Eat in Comfort, Gaza Remains Hungry — Let’s Deliver Food and Rebuild Lives

After more than 460 days of brutal attack, 1.9 million people in Gaza have become displaced. Worst of all, most of them have no home to return to after the ceasefire.

▶️ 92% of homes are in ruins or severely damaged.

▶️ 88% of schools have suffered heavy destruction.

▶️ 69% of Gaza’s structures lie in ruins, with the devastation amounting to an estimated $18.5 billion.

▶️ 68% of farmland has been damaged, crippling food production and pushing millions closer to starvation.

▶️ None of Gaza’s 36 hospitals are fully functional, with only 15 remaining open but severely limited in services.

Living in horrifying circumstances, with no food, water, or shelter, having lost everything they had. There seems to be no end to their suffering, and they have nowhere to turn for refuge.

As the lives of 2.3 million people—of which 50% are children—remain in CONSTANT destruction in the Gaza Strip, they face the daily risk of DYING due to hunger.

Imagine enduring more than 15 months of war, witnessing the destruction of homes and families, and feeling the constant pangs of hunger with no relief in sight.

Imagine surviving on animal fodder and soup made from grass, with meat being something you can only dream of.

The children in Gaza are living in constant fear and uncertainty. The psychological trauma they experience is profound, with nightmares and anxiety becoming a part of their daily existence.

Dozens of children, malnourished and desperate, have perished from starvation.

Up to 60% of Children in Northern Gaza are facing the fastest rate of starvation on record.

Gazans hear the voices of children stuck under the rubble but are unable to help.

Why?

ALL rescue operations in Gaza are being carried out by local civilians–people like us. Except, these people don’t just lack proper training…

They also lack the STRENGTH and ENERGY needed to carry out these rescues. They are hungry, dehydrated, and devastated.

The total siege ALSO means that the innocent and unequipped Gazans face an acute risk of starvation alongside the trauma of bloodshed AND the complete collapse of water and sanitation services. This means they are also at risk of being exposed to deadly infectious diseases like cholera due to the collapse of water and sanitation services.

Every hour, a child dies waiting for food, water, or rescue. Don’t let silence be the reason they don’t survive.

Furthermore, Israel is violating the ceasefire by failing to allow ANY temporary housing in Gaza, leaving the people in Gaza in a more vulnerable state.

For 2.3 Million people with NO resources and NO housing, 10,000 trucks are like a drop of water in a desert.

To help put it into perspective, before October 7, nearly 500 aid trucks were delivered to people in Gaza DAILY. And even then, 1.84 million people in Gaza were food insecure— they didn’t know when and if they’ll have their next meal.

Can you imagine how worse the situation would be now?

Since October 7,

🔸 Over 45,000 Gazans have been killed including more than 15,000 children

🔸 More than 109,000 Gazans have been injured

🔸 Over 90% of Residential buildings have been destroyed or damaged

🔸 378+ Educational Facilities have been damaged

🔸 All 12 of Gaza’s universities and colleges have been destroyed

🔸 79% of Gaza’s mosques and 3 churches have been either demolished or damaged

🔸 84% of health facilities are damaged or destroyed

🔸 Three major desalination plants are offline due to Israeli bombardment or fuel shortages

🔸 Dozens of small, privately owned desalination facilities are also non-operational due to fuel shortages

🔸 83% of groundwater wells are not operational

🔸 1.9 MILLION Gazans have been displaced

🔸 In Rafah, over a million Palestinians had sought refuge from the war before it was invaded on May 6

🔸 84% of health facilities are damaged or destroyed, leaving the healthcare system in Gaza on the brink of collapse

Onsur is on the ground helping the people

But, we cannot delay. Every 10 minutes a child in Gaza dies, and every day, THOUSANDS of Palestinians die. We cannot risk waiting around… or our help may be a bit too late.

Be the Best of Believers!

The Holy Prophet (PBUH) said,
“The best of you are those who feed others.”
(Sahih Bukhari)

And the best of believers are the ones who will enter Jannah, and will not see the wrath of Allah SWT on the Day of Judgement.

The Holy Prophet SAW has also, on multiple occasions, emphasized that the Ummah is like one body— if one part is hurt, the entire body is affected.

How can we go on with our daily lives, when a part of our body is being slain? And that, too, SUCH an important part?

Palestine is like the heart of our Ummah. It is one of the MOST blessed lands. It is the land of Prophets, the land above which the Angels of Allah spread their wings, the land where we will be raised and gathered on the day of Judgement.

And the people of Palestine? Have you noticed their unwavering faith?

The Holy Prophet (PBUH) said,
““There is a group among my followers who will continue to be open about the truth. No one who opposes them can harm them until the coming of the Hour”. The Companions (ra) asked, “Where will they be”? The Messenger of Allah said, “They will be in and around Bayt Al-Maqdis (i.e. Jerusalem).” [Ahmad]

Helping the people of Palestine is not an option for the Ummah— it is an obligation.

Question is, will you fulfill your duty to them and take action to help your brothers and sisters in Palestine? Will you be among the best of believers?
